You want to have The Project out? This is what you need.
I talk about wanting to take The Lego Church Project on the road. This is a bit of a FAQ on what a display is and what I would need to make this happen.
Please keep in mind: I do NOT drive. So any parish or location would have to provide transportation.
What is a display?
Where The Project and myself are brought out to a parish or other location. Giving people a chance to see my work in person. I sometimes will do a short presentation with Q/A. Going into details about why I am doing this.
Where are you located?
I am based out of Saginaw Township, Michigan.
How big/heavy is The Project?
Project sits on a plywood base that is 48x26in. Project itself is usually around 47x25x25in. Weighs about 80lbs or so.
What kind of set up do you need for the display?
Just need a table that is close in size to The Project and close to an electrical outlet as I have lights inside.
How long does it take to set up?
Not counting drive time? Once I reach the location and a table is all ready? Less than 15 minuets.
What kind of transportation needs do you have?
As mentioned at the start. I don’t drive. That means any parish/location would need to provide the needed rides for both The Project and myself. I need to be around to make sure The Project has no real issues. I can also be present to answer questions people may have.
The Project itself can fit into most mid sized SUV, Mini-Van, Truck. So transport is pretty easy. Also pretty durable and can hold up on longer trips.
How do you move The Project?
Just need to two people and some kind of cart to make things easier on us.
How much do you charge?
I do not charge at all. Mainly because of the transportation issues. Along with a deep desire to share my talents. This isn’t about making money nor is it the focus of my work.
Do you take donations?
Yes. However I leave it up to the parish to decide how this is done. Some parishes will set up a container or make a direct donation. If I’m at a public event such as a holiday bazaar I will have my own donation box set up. Keep in mind while donations help me in a lot of ways. It is not required.
For the display what other needs do you have?
The only other thing that I have to make sure that I eat meals close to on time. This doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Often times just a quick trip though a drive-thru.
How far are you willing travel?
Where ever the Lord is willing to send me. Depending on where I am going extra stuff will have to be considered. But we can cross that bridge when we get there.
Can I see The Project beforehand?
If you want to see The Project in person before you commit to a display just let me know. Keep in mind that I’m usually building The Project between Jan and March. But I will have it set up in a public location. I can also go into more details and answer any extra question you may have.
