A prayer for direction
At the core of my work is prayer. As I am building I am praying. When I take The Project on the road that is a prayer as well. In fact without prayer this Project would not exist. Season 23 has been taking me on some new roads. A desire and a prayer for a better sense of direction and a few new paths to travel on. The kind of paths that puts an extra focus on the mission that I have with Lego Church Project. My most recent displays (Gladwin/Harrsion and Alma/St. Louis) have given me a lot to reflect and pray on as I am seeking out the Wisdom of the Holy Spirit. These last few months I’ve have stepped out of my comfort zone. Though with those challenges I feel that things have gone far better than I could have ever hoped. Within a few short months I’ll be heading into the end of my current season. As this takes place I will be praying for new directions to travel in. A desire to do a few more displays with presentations. The message I have is clear: “No matter what challenge or disability you face God can still use your talents!” So please keep me in prayer as I see out God’s wisdom.
Speaking of displays
On Oct 14-16th I had an amazing time visiting St. Mary’s school and Nativity of the Lord Parish over in Alma and St. Louis, Michigan. I was able to give a short presentation to the children at the school and was able to answer a lot of fun and creative questions. I know the children (and the teachers) really loved my work and I think they got a lot out of what I am doing. The remainder of the weekend was spent at the parish where I also gave a short talk at the end of Mass. I had a lot of fun during this event and even got to meet some followers from Twitter! My thanks to the parish community of Nativity of The Lord and Deacon Rick for this chance to share the faith creatively.
A story of hope
I’m always open about the fact that I have a mild form of cerebral palsy. During the course of the talks I gave this came up a lot. During the display I was able to field a few questions related to how this impacts me over all. I don’t mind doing this. I want people to have a better understanding of how my challenges impact me.
While I was at the parish a family came up to me with their young grandson. They told me that I gave them hope because he has cerebral palsy. From my work and what I am doing I showed them that this young kid has a future in the eyes of God. Pray for this family and his parents as they figure out his life. If you ever want to know why do these displays it is stuff like this. Even if I can give hope to one person or family then it makes it all worth while.
Looking for a few displays and podcasts
I would really love to take Season 23 on the road one or two more times before Advent. Which is when my final display of the season takes place. Also looking for a few podcasts to go on and talk about faith, disability, and The Project. Please pray on these issues and may Blessed Solanus Casey help in these matters.
