In the last month or so I’ve seen a bit of an increase in the number of subscribers. So I thought I would give a little bit of info and talk about my work and the mission behind it.
My name John “JM” Kraemer. I’m currently out of Saginaw, MI which is about two hours north of Detroit. I’m an active member of Christ The Good Shepherd. For the past twenty-four years I’ve been building and displaying the annual Lego Church Project. What I do is pretty much build a giant parish of my own design out of LEGO. Most of my projects are around 47x25x25 inches. The Project also has a full interior with a lot of detail.
Though out the season I try and take the parish on the road to various locations in the region. To show what God is doing in my life. A project of this nature is not meant to be hidden. It is meant to shared with others.
The reason for doing all of this to begin with is that I have a mild form of cerebral palsy. Which has major effects in my daily life. Even to the point that I can no longer drive and have to rely on others. Even to do Project displays. This leads to my mission statement:
The mission of the Lego Church Project is to show no matter what challenge or disability that you face. God can still use your talents in amazing and creative ways.
Thanks to everyone for subscribing!
Prayers for Choirs and Music directors!
Many parishes are starting up their choirs once again. Many are also looking for members to join and help out. Please keep those parishes struggling to find members in your prayers. Along with the Music directors who probably have a lot more going on than we realize! If you can help out your parish! Come and sing with us.
Assumption Parish Display
In Mid Nov I’ll be visiting Midland, MI for one of two Project displays for Season 24. I will have more details closer to the event.
Still looking for an Oct Display!
I would like to take Season 24 on the road for a display in Oct or first weekend of Nov. If a parish can provide the rides. Either Saginaw or Lansing diocese. Bringing the Project out so people can see this in person. I can also give a short presentation on faith/disability. I can provide more information just drop me a message!
A Holy Mess interview!
Not long ago I had the chance to sit down with Fr. Paul Houlis for a fun interview. We covered a lot of the usual topics and even got to mention Blessed Solanus Casey! He is active on FB and Twitter. So worth checking out.
Closing thoughts
We deal with challenges in life. At times they can seem like a mountin that we are unable to cross. Most of that is just because we don’t know which path to take. Those are the times we really need to trust in the Lord becuase He knows the path we should try and use. Even if we cannot see it.
