Displays are an important part of what I do. They allow me to directly show what the Lord is doing in my life. Giving me a chance to share the gifts that God has given me. Along with opening doors to important conversations as it relates to faith and disability.
I am no expect in these things. I can only draw on my own life experiences on how to navigate life with a disability and still remain faithful to Christ. Which is by no means an easy task. More so when my own chronic issues decide to fire up. Yet I take comfort in knowing the Lord is with me. Even on the days that are most challenging.
By showing my work in public. People get to see first hand the creative passion that I have with church. The time and effort into building one of these Projects. Along with learning about all that goes on.
When I am visiting a parish. It also gives me the chance to see what is going on in the church. Not just what I see at my home parish. I am able to take the time to look at the buildings and to see what parish communities are doing to live the faith. Elements of life that I can take back and apply to my own life.
God has giving me some amazing talents. I am always praying for the times that I can help to build the faith. One brick at a time.
All Saints Display
I started visiting All Saints Parish in Bay City, MI back in 2017 and every few years or so I make a return trip. It is always a lot of fun and a great time to visit this wonderful parish community. My thanks to Fr. Jose for helping to transport The Project.
If you get a chance please check out Fr. Jose’s YouTube Channel and the parish website.
St. Jude Parish Display
The next display takes place June 28/29 and July 5/6 at St. Jude Parish in Essexville, MI
Mass times: Sat: 4pm, Sun: 8:30am and 10:30am
The next display?
I am still looking for a few more displays before the one in Nov. If you know of a parish that might be interested in hosting me. Please let me know. A reminder: I do not charge for this at all. However the parish would have to provide transportation for me and The Project as I do not drive.
Closing Thoughts
We have to keep our eyes focused on Christ. That is what keeps us floating in the raging seas. I have found great comfort in surrendering to Christ all things. Doesn’t mean I give up. It means I have trust in the plan God has set forth for me.
