My adventure
Last Saturday afternoon we loaded the Project up for the hour-long drive to Gladwin. (The first stop). This set of events brought two challenges for the season right off the bat. This was the first time taking Season 23 out on the road. Also the first time visiting this group of parishes. I had been invited to come out to help kick off the Faith Formation program the parishes were doing.
The first stop was at Gladwin’s Sacred Heart Parish. After Mass we gathered and had the chance to show off the build and get to meet the people who wanted to see my work. The first event (for me) felt more like a typical parish display. Lots of interaction and a lot of good questions. I felt very welcome at the parish and things went very smoothly. After the event we loaded the Project back up and then later took the Project over to the second location.
On Sunday I was at St. Athanasius in Harrsion. We set up the Project in the main area first before moving it to the conference hall after Mass. Once again had a lot of fun showing people The Project. What made this event rather unique for me is I was able to give a small talk and take some questions. I got to share what I do and the story behind my work. Along with getting to answer some very fun questions.
After the event on Sunday we loaded up and made the return trip to Saginaw Township. This was an amazing and powerful weekend. It is rare for me to get to visit two parishes in the same weekend. Such wonderful communities in our diocese!
I did take a some photos of the event. If anyone has any other photos and would like them added to the gallery let me know.
Sacred Heart/St. Athanasius website
I often say that I have been featured in more YouTube videos than the number of videos I have on my own channel. Fr. Portelli was kind enough to record and share my talk on his channel.
My thanks to Beth and Rich Kindermann for setting this up, providing transportation and other accommodations. My thanks to Fr. Portelli for recording and posting the video and allowing this wonderful time to take place.
Displays/Podcasts/Radio?
I am still looking to fill out the calendar with displays (I have a few free weekends), Being a guest on radio/podcasts. If you know of anyone that might be interested please have them send me and e-mail (link is at the bottom of the newsletter).
