Season 24 is ready!
I started work on Season 24 around Jan 20th and was able to finish the build by Feb 22nd. This process is a challenging time as I’m trying to build something new while reflecting/praying on the past. Each new build (season) gives me a chance to tell a new story of parish life.
Now that the project is finished the hard part in finding displays begins. I’ve covered this challenge before in Issue 5. Where I talk about the fact that due to me not driving I can’t just e-mail a parish and see if they want to do a display. I pretty much need to be invited. Please check out the the issue for more details. Also please keep this in prayer as it can be a source of unintended frustration on my part.
As for the time of when I can start displaying? Right now! Keep in mind that I am located in Saginaw Township, Michigan.
The goals for this year
What would make for an ideal season is to do at least one or two displays a month from now until the final display starting around Advent. Parish displays with short presentations. Or even going to Catholic Schools and talking to the kids. I did that for one event and it is something that I would love to do again. I think their is a lot that I can share and teach about living the faith and using our talents in the service of Christ.
As for where am I willing to go? Any parish/school that would love to have me. If we can work out on how to get me out and other considerations. I will truly go where God sends me. Just need to pray that He will do that.
If you know of a parish that might have an interest please have them reach out to me. Email is at the end of the issue.
A chance to see Season 24 before hand
I have Season 24 set up at the main office of my apartment complex. Just drop me and e-mail if you would like to come out. If you are a parish that would like to do a display this is a perfect way to find out more about my work and what it takes to make a display go well.
March is Disability Awareness Month
On Feb 26th 1987 President Ronald Regan declared that March would be National Disability Awareness month. It is important to understand that those of us with disabilities face an uphill battle in the life of the church. While a lot of positive things have happened. We still have a long way to go. May the Holy Spirit guide is in how we treat and interact with others.
